YES: "OWNER OF A LONELY HEART" - 1983.

 

 

Yes es una banda de rock progresivo británica, formada en 1968 en Londres, que adquirió fama internacional en los años 70, erigiéndose en uno de los pilares del género, junto a grupos como Pink Floyd, Camel, Genesis, King Crimson y Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

 

Influidos en sus inicios por grupos como The Beatles, The Who, The Moody Blues o los multifacéticos Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, rápidamente evolucionaron hacia un estilo propio caracterizado por complejas y recargadas armonías, la fusión de elementos de Jazz y la música clásica, la creación de melódicas canciones y el uso de un enigmático contenido esotérico, onírico y poético presente en sus letras, mayormente hijas de la pluma de Jon Anderson.

 

Más duros y menos teatrales que Genesis, aunque más progresivos que Rush o Jethro Tull, el rock de Yes marcaría la historia del rock sinfónico inglés con clásicos como The Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge o Tales from Topographic Oceans.

"Owner Of A Lonely Heart" (traducido al español como "Dueño de un corazon solitario") es un sencillo de la banda de rock progresivo Yes, lanzado en octubre de 1983 y que se corresponde con la canción de apertura del álbum "90125". 

 

Escrita por el guitarrista Trevor Rabin, alcanzó el primer puesto en el Billboard Hot 100 estadounidense, la única canción de la banda en llegar a esta posición, y apareció repetidas veces en la MTV, lo que ayudó a popularizar la canción y el grupo, descubriendo el rock progresivo a muchos aficionados a la música. 

 

Debido a su clara orientación hacia el pop rock, el tema no goza de gran popularidad para los fans más antiguos del grupo.
