BILLY OCEAN
Leslie Sebastian Charles (Fyzabad, Trinidad y Tobago, Indias Occidentales Británicas; 21 de enero de 1950), más conocido como Billy Ocean, es un cantautor trinitense nacionalizado británico que comenzó a hacerse famoso a partir de la década de los 70's.
Entre sus éxitos, se pueden destacar las canciones "Caribbean Queen", "Loverboy", "Suddenly", "When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going" (parte de la banda sonora de la película La joya del Nilo de 1985), "Get Outta My Dreams, Get into My Car" (parte de la banda sonora del filme License to Drive de 1988) y "There'll Be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry)".
Fue nombrado Miembro de la Orden del Imperio Británico (MBE) en los New Year Honours 2020 por sus servicios a la música.
"Stay the Night" (Quédate a pasar la noche) es una canción de funk y soul lanzada por el cantante trinitense-británico Billy Ocean en 1980.
Incluida en su álbum "City Limit", fue publicada como el sencillo de continuación de su éxito «Are You Ready?», e incluso sirvió como lado B de este último en algunos países.
El tema fue versionado en 1981 por La Toya Jackson y sampleado en 2002 por la artista de dance, Lady, para su sencillo «Easy Love».
La letra explora el deseo de transformar un encuentro casual en una experiencia íntima y significativa, e invita a la pareja a pasar la noche juntos en un ambiente íntimo y privado.
