Shirley & Company fue un grupo disco estadounidense, formado por Shirley Goodman (1936–2005), Jason Alvarez (ahora pastor), Walter Morris, Bernadette Randle, Seldon Powell, Jonathan Williams, Kenny Jeremiah y Clarence Oliver. Encabezaron la lista Dance de EE.UU. en 1975 con "Shame, Shame, Shame" (U.S. Pop # 12), y les fue extremadamente bien en Europa: la canción alcanzó el # 6 en la lista de singles del Reino Unido y el # 1 en Austria, Bélgica, Alemania, y los Países Bajos.

"Shame, Shame, Shame"

"Shame, Shame, Shame" fue escrita y producida por Sylvia Robinson, quien era copropietaria del sello discográfico All Platinum. Estaba destinado al artista de All Platinum, Donnie Elbert. Fue Robinson quien emparejó a la veterana vocalista de blues Shirley Goodman con el artista de All Platinum, Jesús (Jason) Alvarez.

La pista, con su uso destacado del ritmo de Bo Diddley, fue uno de los primeros éxitos disco internacionales y alcanzó el número 12 en las listas de Billboard.

 También alcanzó el número uno en la lista de singles de soul durante una semana. "Shame, Shame, Shame" también fue número uno en la lista disco/dance durante cuatro semanas.

No obstante, fue el único éxito de este grupo; la canción fue lanzada por primera vez en el LP "Shame, Shame, Shame" en 1974 y registrada y publicada posteriormente en 1975.

La cantante principal Shirley Goodman, era la mitad del dúo Shirley and Lee, que tuvo un gran éxito 18 años antes, en 1956, escribiendo y grabando la canción "Let The Good Times Roll" para Aladdin Records.

Jesús Alvarez cambió su nombre a Jason Alvarez y se convirtió en pastor de la Iglesia de la Familia Amor de Jesús. Grabó varios álbumes de gospel.
