R & J STONE: "WE DO IT" - 1976.

 

 

R&J Stone fueron un dúo musical de marido y mujer inglés/estadounidense, Russell Oliver Stone y Joanne Stone. La pareja fue originalmente miembro del coro británico de James Last durante varios años.

Tuvieron un sencillo de éxito a mediados de la década de 1970 con su canción escrita por ellos mismos "We Do It". La pista fue producida por Phil Swern.

Algún tiempo después de su éxito, Russell Stone decidió que no quería quedarse como cantante y prefirió concentrarse en producir y escribir para su esposa. Su segundo álbum no funcionó bien y un tercer álbum, aunque grabado, nunca fue lanzado.

Tres años después en 1979, Joanne Stone murió de un tumor cerebral.

Russell Stone fue más tarde a Munich para trabajar con el islandés Thorir Baldursson.

Stone, un alcohólico recuperado, ha lanzado tres álbumes en solitario: Love Aspects (2013), Groove Aspects (2014) y Devotional Aspects (2016), después de pasar años fuera de la industria de la música.

"We Do It" es una canción escrita por Russell Stone, integrante del dúo de marido y mujer R&J Stone. 

Fue producido por Phil Swern, y se convirtió en un éxito en 1976, alcanzando el número 5 en la lista de singles del Reino Unido. También fue un éxito entre los 5 primeros en Australia. 

Fue relanzado en 1987 en Soul City Records.
