THE  FLOATERS

"The Floaters" son un grupo vocal afroamericano de R&B, de Detroit, Michigan; formados en 1976.

La banda fue formada por el ex-vocalista de "The Detroit Emeralds" James Mitchell, con su hermano Paul Mitchell, Larry Cunningham, Charles Clark y Ralph Mitchell.

James Mitchell escribió el gran éxito de la banda, "Float On", con Arnold Ingram y Marvin Willis. 

La letra centra la atención a cada miembro de la banda, que se presenta a sí mismo con su nombre, signo astrológico y el tipo ideal de pareja romántica.
