"Nightshift" es una canción de 1985 del grupo The Commodores y esta pista forma parte del álbum del mismo nombre. 

La canción, escrita por el cantante Walter Orange, en colaboración con Dennis Lambert y Franne Golde, era un homenaje a los cantantes de  Soul / R & B Jackie Wilson y Marvin Gaye, quienes murieron en 1984. El sencillo fue lanzado el 31 de enero de 1985 en los Estados Unidos. 

Esta canción, que fue grabada originalmente en 1984, fue el primer éxito alcanzado por los Commodores tras la salida de Lionel Richie del grupo. 

También fue su mayor éxito después de la salida de Richie, alcanzando el N° 3 en el Billboard Hot 100 y en el UK Singles Chart,  y llegando al N° 1 en el Hot Black Singles chart.
