Martha and the Vandellas (conocidas desde 1967 a 1972 como Martha Reeves and the Vandellas) fueron uno de los grupos de Motown más exitosos durante el periodo 1963-1967.
En contraste con otros grupos de Motown femeninos como The Supremes o The Marvelettes, Martha and the Vandellas fueron conocidas por un sonido R&B más duro caracterizado en canciones como (Love is like a) Heat wave, Nowhere to run, Jimmy Mack o la más conocida Dancing in the street.
Durante sus nueve años de funcionar como grupo de 1963 a 1972, Martha and the Vandellas crearon más de veintiseis éxitos y grabaron en diferentes estilos como doo-wop, R&B, pop, blues, rock y soul.
