Delegation es un grupo vocal británico formado en Birmingham en 1976, y activo hasta 1983. La integración inicial estaba compuesta por Len Coley, Rick Bailey en la voz principal y Roddy Harris. El trío fue pronto descubierto por el compositor y productor musical Ken Gold, quien también escribió y produjo los éxitos "You to Me Are Everything" y "Can’t Get By Without You" para The Real Thing. Ken y su compañero de escritura, Mickey Denne, también escribieron canciones para Aretha Franklin, Jackie Wilson y Cliff Richard.
En 1976, Delegation lanzó su primer sencillo, "The Promise of Love", tomado de su álbum debut del mismo nombre, y lanzado en el sello State Records, aunque no tuvo éxito. Su segundo sencillo, "Where Is The Love (We Used To Know)", también del mismo álbum, llegó a las listas de Reino Unido en abril de 1977, y le dio al grupo su primer éxito y, en consecuencia, su primera aparición en Top of the Pops.
Ray Patterson reemplazó a Roddy Harris más tarde ese año y el grupo lanzó su tercer sencillo, "You’ve Been Doing Me Wrong", que se convirtió en su segundo éxito del álbum "The Promise of Love".
“Oh Honey”, una suave balada, le dio al grupo su primer éxito en Estados Unidos en 1979. Esta canción alcanzó el puesto número 5 en las listas de R&B de Billboard.
Coley más tarde dejó la banda y Bruce Dunbar tomó su lugar. Su segundo álbum, "Eau De Vie", fue lanzado en 1979. Este álbum resultó ser un gran éxito, con"You and I", "Put a Little Love on Me", "Heartache # 9" y "Darling (I Think About You)". Bruce dejó el grupo en 1981 y regresó a los Estados Unidos después de su tercer álbum titulado "Delegation" y el grupo continuó con menor éxito.
Siguieron con un álbum titulado "Delegation II" en 1981, y "Deuces High" en 1982. Todos lanzados en Europa, pero no en los Estados Unidos. El grupo grabó un par de sencillos más y continuó actuando hasta el final de la década. El álbum "It's Your Turn", de Epic, solo tuvo éxito en Francia, aunque tuvo un buen desempeño en la escena de clubes de todo el Reino Unido, y "The Mix" en Scorpio Records, una recopilación de cinco de sus mayores éxitos, también se vendió mal.
Bailey se reunió con Gold, para formar Euro Jam Records a mediados de la década de 1990, para reempaquetar las grabaciones anteriores de Delegation en nuevos álbumes recopilatorios, y reformó el grupo para lanzar "Encore" en Europa en 1993, pero esta fue la grabación final de Delegation.
